Congress to Hold protest on Monday to save LIC/SBI & Bhumi Bachao Andolan

Expressed gratitude to people for support to BJY

JAMMU, February 4:- Expressing gratitude to the people for whole hearted support to the just concluded Bharat Jodo Yatra, JKPCC has decided to hold protest on Monday Feb 6, against the forced investment into Adani group by LIC and SBI besides eviction of poor people and small farmers by UT administration.

A meeting of senior leaders of PCC, DCC Presidents and Frontal Wings was held under the chairmanship of  JKPCC President Vikar Rasool Wani and attended by working president Raman Bhalla Former president Peerzada  Mohd Sayed besides other leaders.

The meeting expressed gratitude to the people for the whole hearted support to the Bharat jodo Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir , which focused on the various issues confronting the people and youth here, apart from spreading the message of communal harmony and brotherhood.

The meeting expressed great concern over the arbitrary eviction drive against the poor, downtrodden and others in Jammu and Kashmir. Whereas majority of poor people and agriculturists are in possession  of state lands for decades. It’s great injustice with landless tillers, small, marginal  farmers & common people.

JKPCC President Vikar Rasool Wani said that the issues raised by shri Rahul Gandhi from time to time have proved that he always spoke truth in national interests. The issue of investment of  public money from LIC and SBI into Adani group is a matter of serious concern and Modi Govt has been evading question in Parliament, so a nationwide protest is to be held on Monday near SBI/LIC offices.

Working president Shri Raman Bhalla also lashed out at the UT administration for its eviction drive of all irrespective of land in their possession and rights accrued to them. It shall be opposed tooth and nail in a democratic manner.
He  also referred to the broader issue of saving of people money in LIC and SBI besides other financial institutions as the government forced such institutions to invest in Adani group.

The protest shall be held in Jammu from Shaheedi chowk to City Chowk near LIC and SBI Offices in Jammu while it shall be held in different districts too same day.

Ex President JKPCC and former Minister Peerzada Mohd Sayed in his address congratulated the workers for the whole hearted support to the Bharat Jodo Yatra and termed it a historical Jan Andolan against the atmosphere of hate and numerous sufferings. He asked party men to unitedly fight for the rights of the people and bring party to power serve the people.

On this occasion Bharat Yatri of Jammu Vijay Shastri was felicitated by the party by presenting a shawl by president and working president and other senior leaders.
President JKPCC Vikar Rasool Wani and working president Raman Bhalla too we’re felicitated by Secretary PCC Pawan  Raina for the success of BJY.

Newly appointed chairman of PCC minority department Sdr Rajinder Singh was also welcomed on his appointment by garlanding him.

Several senior functionaries of PCC, District presidents, representatives of frontal wings attended the meeting.
